Mayones Basses
I've been happily playing Mayones basses since 2011. I love the company's range of unique instruments and their approach to pushing the boundaries with new ideas.
I have two Mayones basses:
- Jabba HH Special 5 string
Ash body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, Mayones active preamp, Nordstrand Fatstack pickups, Active/passive switch
- Master Builder Collection Comodous Buckeye Burl 5 string
Profiled Swamp Ash body, Wenge middle, Buckeye Burl top, 9-ply / Maple-Mahogany thru-neck, Ebony fingerboard w/ custom "Crescent Moon" inlays, Bartolini 72M45C-T (bridge) and Bartolini 72M45C-B (neck), Aguilar OBP-3 active preamp, Mayones X2 two-piece bridge, Schaller hardware.
I have toured extensively with both and can't sing their praises enough!
Ernie Ball Strings
I've been using Ernie Ball strings since I can remember. Their long lasting and bright tone has shaped my sound and they've always felt at home underneath my fingers.
I love using the standard .45 - .105 gauge on 4 string basses, however the lower tuning required for VOYAGER songs means I pick the Power Slinky Bass 5 sets. These come in gauges .50 .70 .85 .105. .135
The .135 string handles anything from E to Low G like a boss and gives me a tight and punchy sound that cuts through a mix. I love em!
Vocalzone
I use these Vocalzone lozenges all the time. Especially at cover gigs, typically loud pubs where I’m around cigarette smoke and singing for literally hours at a time. I can just pop one of these in my mouth and it slowly dissolves over a long time, soothing my throat throughout course of the set and most definitely making a difference in stamina during the performance and with recovery after the show. It’s an amazing product and I’m thrilled to be part of the Vocalzone family!
